Goodbye 2013

As we get closer to saying goodbye to 2013 I'd like to take some time to reflect on all the changes there have been this year.  Not in a way to brag, or to get your pity but to praise God for the good and the bad and every breath I take.

After coming off of very hard and tiring 2012, I was hoping for good times.  When I say good times I mean traveling, hanging out, running races, dating and all the stuff single, gainfully employed people do.  Funny thing is as the quote goes "Life is what happens while your busy making other plans."

2013 brought me a couple of the good times I wanted BUT in very different ways.

Traveling:
Yes, I got to travel, however after my second trip the travel was never alone.  Heck from that trip on I was never alone again.  I went to visit my sister's kids for a long weekend and my life was changed forever (I hope). I returned to California with my 5 yr old niece as my own.  She came to live with me and grow up here around her family.  It was and is a huge change for both of us.  We both have lost and gained a lot.  From then on we traveled to Arizona and San Jose a couple of times.  Las Vegas for fun and San Diego a ton for baseball and other fun.  Well I asked for travel and I got it.

Hanging out:
I still got to go out here and there, but now I had to get a babysitter and could make last minute decisions.  WOW what a change.  I can not even run to the store real quick if I forgot something or get up and run in the morning.  But we have hung out with my parents a lot more this year and Alyssa has loved it.

Running races:
Only the race of life.  I've been unmotivated to race this year, I've choosen to spend my money on other things.  Needs not wants now.

Dating:
What's that?

Thank you 2013 for what you brought me, brought me through and helped me see. 2014 - I plan on getting things done this year!
