Motherhood: the bathroom, wine and chocolate...

We'll get to the title in a bit. Let me set the weekend picture. This weekend has been a crazy and awesome weekend for us. Not only did we have Alyssa's Brother (my nephew) still here visiting, but my sister and my other to nephews came down Friday to help celebrate Alyssa birthday.

Friday night consisted of family and more family: add to the group 4 -3rd cousins for Alyssa and 2 second cousins along with everyone else. Sleep??? Not really, got home after ten and we had to be up by 8am for t-ball the next day.

Saturday up at 7:45 am hoping to get a few things done before she got up. Nope she is up with me. I of course think that is a guarantee that we will be on time to the game. HAHA who am I kidding. She may wake up in the morning but she moves like a snail. T-ball was great but she had so many people watching her she really didn't pay attention to the game. She was, I think, too excited about her pending birthday party to care. Games over and now we have tons of things to do before the previously mentioned party.

Shower, dress, call family, pack car, pick up cake at Costco with your shirt on inside out, buy pizza, remember things we didn't put in the car, go home to get them, get back in car, get back out of car and back in the house for more stuff and head to the party. Where we proceed to entertain and feed about 50 people. Bounce, bubble, eat, repeat several times. Party until 5 or 6 then spend a lot of time opening the amazing blessings she got. Realize how loved we are. Continue to let the bounce until the bounce house people come. Stay at Grandma and Papa's house until 11 pm ( 2 1/2 hours past bed time), get home ( I want to pass out) but the EBunny has another idea....read me a book. Read book say no to reading it again, pray and pass out after midnight.

8:47 am a wake again. Fight with the smelly beast sleeping next to me as to why she needs a shower before church and why her hair has to be washed. I win, but I showers first. We see a PeaHAWK. We dress for church, eat breakfast and head out. Crap have to unload the car from the party before we do that. Then we go get our God on and head to Ruby's for lunch. Then we take pictures at the "beach". Back to the Grandparent house, blow more bubbles, brief time of peace for me on the hammock. Head to Dollar tree so she can spend her birthday money - witness her very first time paying her own with her own money and see the complete joy in her eyes when she get her receipt. She even kissed it. I also witnessed her replicate what her brother's selflessness...she used one of her dollars to buy a birthday gift for Danny. She would not let me pay for it at all. Back to the house for a movie, dinner and out good byes. 9:00 we head home. Get her ready for bed...pass out by 9:30 pm.

I proceed to put away birthday present and organize our room, go through all my mail, pack two lunches, pick out an outfit for her for tomorrow, put all bags in a pile for tomorrow, tape all cards to our bedroom door, and...

Soak hot swollen feet in cold bathtub in a dimly light bathroom, with a glass of red wine, a piece of chocolate and the door closed...solitude in the strangest of places.

I love my life
