Today's Grab Bag of Thoughts

This year I got the best birthday present ever. My niece came to live with me. Though it has been a whirl wind of a few days she has become the light of my life. She says the craziest things. She makes people smile. She is a ball of energy. But the best thing is that she reminds me of my sister and makes me feel like she is still here. I always said that I would have a little girl that is always wearing pink and loves to dance. Well she is just that. BUT she is already signed up for t-ball and is excited. Of course though she did pick out a purple and pink glove. LOL She has said thing these last two days that have not only melted my heart but brought tears to my eyes. "You're like my mom and I am like your Daughter. We are funny like this huh? It is kind of cool to call us mommy and daughter. We can keep doing this right? Landed back in Raleigh today and wow I never thought the emotions would be so high. It doesn't seem real that tomorrow I have to go two different places to get the kids. That she isn't on base waiting for me. That Haley is not even here. There is happiness to see the kids but a lot of sadness too. When you visit every month for a week at a time for 6 months straight you grow a bigger attachment than your normal everyday love. You start to feel more like they are also your kids and you just want to see them succeed. So coming back here today is both wonderful and horrible. The good news is that I get to have one of my nieces for the whole weekend. I get to see my nephew play basketball and the hang with him too. Stacy and I may not have been the closest until the end of her years but she knew I loved her and that I'd do anything for those kids. I am going to make the best of this trip and heal. Ok so as you get older and get a big girl job you need to start taking responsibility for your job. Deadlines are so important and yes we all have tons of them to worry about. HOWEVER, if you were organized by client or rep or however it would work for you, then you could do your job correctly. It is not the job of other people to remind you of your deadlines, yes it is nice of them that they have been doing that but REALLY, you should know when things are do. We are all busy and we are all doing the work of more than one person, but some of us still succeed. Take some time to sit down and organize yourself. Be it with a calendar for each rep or client. Be it with media plans that show ALL your clients ads and campaigns. Or be with folders, sticky note or what ever makes you happy. Just get organized because it is not my job to do your job too. End rant. I feel better now. :-)

I knew that would get your attention. Ok guys you can ignore this post if you'd like. I recently found time to read through my magazines and ran across a very interesting set of articles about, you guessed it BOOBS. Health magazine May 2012 is my reference in case you want to fact check me or read this on your own. There is some good stuff here but I will make you wait for it. Here is what I learned: 1. Boobs are made up of 6 parts 2. 1/3 of your breast if fat. Fat has some give to it that is why we bounce. 3. There are 8 openings on your nipple for milk to come out. (I had no idea lol) 4. The change in the average size of the American Breast over the past generation is from 34b to 36c 5. No amount of exercise will reverse sagging, but you can exercise to yank the ligaments up. 6. Cup sizes were created in 1932 7. You should get bra fitted once a year 8. You should have at least 3 bras and NEVER WEAR THEM TWO DAYS IN A ROW...so the Lycra has time to retract to its origi...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Wow, I can't believe we've been together this long. I was worried about my ability for long term relationships, but this one has lasted 38 years and counting. Yes we've been through so much. The pain and suffering you've endured caused by me is incredible. You've almost lost limbs, eyes, ears and gosh so much more and you have stayed with me any way. You comforted me in times of need and you've let me cry on your shoulder. I've seen you change so much over the years, from a baby to very large toddler size person. You've laughed when I tickled you, you've danced and even done somersaults. Though you've been so many things over the years, you've never changed your style. Today I conquered a very big "fear" I guess you could call it. I like to stock up on meats when they get to a certain price that I have of course researched. Well today there was a good deal on bone in chicken thighs and split breasts. Sounds good to you I am sure. BUT if you know me you know that I don't do bone in meats. Not only was it sort of a miracle that I purchased this type of chicken but yours truly skinned and deboned them! Oh yeah I made my own boneless chicken breasts. Ok next step conquer the actually cutting up a whole chicken into pieces so that I can order my meat like my veggies from local ranchers/farmers. This seems like a big step so I am sure it will take sometime. Heck it took 30+ years to get this far.
