Letter to My Sister

HI Stacy! Hope Heaven is treating you well.  We sure miss you here on earth.  I am sure you are watching us daily, but just in case you are missing the finer details let me fill you in on your kids.  They, just like me, miss you.  We all wish that tomorrow was a day of celebration not a day of remembrance.  But I guess we should celebrate that you are not in pain anymore and that all three of yours children are being well taken care of. Hey did you hear that I am FINALLY getting married?  You would totally like the guy.  He's so great.  He's a big goofball like me but very loyal, caring and helpful.  He treats us all with respect and has only the best intentions when it comes to the kids.  We will rock this parenting thing together.  These kids will have an additional person to fill them up with love. So what have you missed in the last 5 years?  Unfortunately a lot.  It makes me sad sometimes to remember what t...

Missing you

Today was the first big event in Alyssa's life and I never thought it would be as hard as it was.  As I stood there alone waiting for the auditorium doors to open, tears just stared streaming down my face.  I couldn't stop thinking about Stacy.  How unfair it was that she wasn't there for this.  This spiraled into my mind going to all the things she will miss...5th grade promotion, 8th grade graduation, High School, 1st dances, Proms, college, weddings everything that a lil girl wants her mom for.  It's just not fair, but I am beyond honored to step in.   There are days when I look at her and she is totally me.  Days she is totally Stacy.  I used to always say God will give me a lil girl and she is going to be so girly I won't even know how to relate.  She'll love pink, dolls and glitter, but I would make her love sports.  Well he did just that.  She is the best and some of ther worst of both of us.  The ways we come out of thi...

This year I got the best birthday present ever. My niece came to live with me. Though it has been a whirl wind of a few days she has become the light of my life. She says the craziest things. She makes people smile. She is a ball of energy. But the best thing is that she reminds me of my sister and makes me feel like she is still here. I always said that I would have a little girl that is always wearing pink and loves to dance. Well she is just that. BUT she is already signed up for t-ball and is excited. Of course though she did pick out a purple and pink glove. LOL She has said thing these last two days that have not only melted my heart but brought tears to my eyes. "You're like my mom and I am like your Daughter. We are funny like this huh? It is kind of cool to call us mommy and daughter. We can keep doing this right? " "I love you mommy, but I miss my real mommy. I wish I could see her. " As I said in Stacy's service it take a vil...
