Good Friends, The Osmonds and...

THE AMISH!

Definitely one of the best vacations ever (for me at least).

Tuesday we got on the boat, checked in for the Donny and Marie cruise. Our first time with them was at about 4:30 when they welcomed us all. It was GREAT. I have a picture that Lucky is in, but I was too short to be seen. After the life jacket drill we has dinner and it was decent. They asked me if I had dietary needs, but they never asked again or give me a different menu. After a drink or two we headed to the Q&A Session with Donny and Maire. It was so fun and they were very honest and every entertaining. I was laughing so much. This was followed up with "Osmond" karaoke. Later that evening we went to the disco club and ended up dancing with 6 Osmonds(Donny's kids and their wives.) It was so fun and their were having a blast. Ended the evening watching the end of Overboard with Marie.

I really think Donny and Marie are great performers, not afraid to show their faith, family oriented and very giving of themselves. BUT I can't not even begin to explain how BIG of Fans some of the people on the cruise were. Oh did I mention we were by far the youngest ladies in the group there for Donny and Marie.

Wednesday we were in Nassau and it was very beautiful. We walked around the whole town and took in all the sites. We could of got arrested taking a picture in front of an official building but managed to get away before they came. We asked the locals where they ate and were NOT let down. The food as so amazing and they even knew what Gluten Free was. After purchasing some gifts to bring back to the states, I headed back to the boat by myself to listen to Marie's speech. She is a great speaker. I completely enjoyed all the stories and the point she hit on. 1. Be still and listen and know that he is God. 2. Be open to new things. 3. Be hopeful 4. Be happy and laugh a lot. Ok those where not her exact points but very close. She really touched my heart. Off to dress for dinner and then the sock hop. For the Sock Hop my friends and I were ready to go all out. Each of us had an awesome wig and a great 70's outfit. We were even on stage with Donny and Marie. Marie smiled at me and likes out outfits. We were the Laugh-in Go-Go Dancers. As we left stage she said she thinks she even wore our outfits back then. LOL. If was so much fun. Then back to Karaoke and the Disco. I did think it was rather funny that Donny did not enjoy his sock-hop outfit. :-)

Thursday started out slow for me, but my friends were working out in the gym at the same time as Donny. To them not a big deal, but I thought it was cool. I went to the Dolls and other Passion talk with Marie and some of the very close people that work for and with her. Found out some sweet things, like her daughter makes her costumes. It was another great talk and made me tear up at times...just like they did. Thursday night was also the Gala Dinner night so we had to get all dolled up. We all looked beautiful. The concert that they put on that night was by far one of the best I've seen by them. Great songs, funny bits and most of all just plain fun. They did a bit of old and new. Then each one did a few songs and ended with some awesome showtunes. Marie dug up old videos and played them, so funny. Donny's bit about fulfilling "his" dream had me in tears it was so funny. No disco that night, it was lame. LOL

Friday we slept in and then spent the day on a private island called Cococay. It was very pretty and a beautiful day. Lots of sun was there for the taking...I managed to soak up plenty of it. Ouch. Made it back to the ship for the wedding vow renewal ceremony with Donny. Now I thought it was great and sweet, but others did not agree. They thought he should have been more serious...but come on he is not a Pastor or Minister he is an entertainer and he ENTERTAINED. They let "everyone" who renewed their vows to take pictures with Donny and Marie, and I was VERY tempted to either borrow someone's husband or tell them I married Lucky the Traveling Gnome to get my picture with them. BUT I did not want to piss of anyone and um embarrass myself. HAHA So no picture with them, but Marie did sort of take a double look at him, like what is she holding. LOL. The talent show that night was pretty good, but their quips or tidbits really are what had me laughing. At the end we saw a video that MSC Cruise made of our weekend and Donny asked "Who made that?" and Marie said "The ship, but not next year". Then they LOST IT, we all started laughing so hard and they could not stop. It was hilarious. I will leave out what actually happened, but let's say Marie will not soon be forgetting it.

It was an awesome weekend and I really wish some of the people who feel they have to give their opinions would keep them to themselves as Donny and Marie are just people and they are not perfect, but they give a lot of themselves for us fans and they deserve a BIG THANK YOU. For sharing your lives (50 years of entertaining), your family and your faith.

Bless you and your family. See you in Jamaica!

  1. Sharon and I almost saw Donny and Marie in Vegas just a couple weeks ago! But aren't you sad about Davy Jones?
