Fricken Awesome
First let me just say, Where are you all? No one is following this blog yet? How sad. LOL Ok what you say is fricken awesome? My stupid roll-out pantry. So as you might have guessed from earlier posts I have adopted a Gluten Free diet. After reading all I have and comparing it to myself there was not doubt I really needed to live Gluten Free.
So last night when I got home, I was not very tired so I went through my pantry before I sat down to watch a movie - see "The Beaver" post from yesterday. While going through it I marked proudly all the gluten free things I had and sadly put aside the "glutenous" items. Oh the horror say it ain't so! Bye bye Wasabi Dorrito chips that were lovingly given to me from my brother-in-law. Bye bye mole, soy sauce, a couple Pampered chef sauces, panko crumbs and so much more. Breathe Terri, breathe. Ok, I don't really feel that bad even though it is a lot of food to GIVE away not throw away. I bet my parent and the man are happy to get the food I can't eat. It is in my best interest.
With an empty pantry: no side dishes, no snacks, no sauces, etc I spent a lot of my time today looking for gluten free coupons and printing out list of my local grocery stores and what they had to offer me. I also made a spread sheet of what I could get on Amazon in bulk and how much each package cost. YES, I am a dork. YES, I turned that spreadsheet into a PDF and sent it to my Iphone so I could reference it when shopping. Total dork yes, but money saver too!
Well this brings us to today...I decided to stock up on some essentials and some snackes, a girl has to eat. I already had some flour mixes, mixes, and pastas but I need other things. Shopping trip done, thanks to Ralph's in Manhattan Beach for carrying so many GF product (except bread). Shopping done, money spent, groceries are home and all there is left is to put things away. Enter in exhibit A: the obviously CHEAP rolling pantry!
Well this just sucks! I have had this for the last 3 years so I guess I got my money's worth. However, this time around I will spend a bit more on the shelf. For the time being what do we do? Well time to get rid of my books and just put the food there instead. I mean, I have a kindle so what do I need those physical books for? If I need the book I and just get it from Amazon. Huh? What oh yeah I guess you are right, I did already pay for the book and then paying for it again is like wasting money. Hmmm, I really wish you would not have said that. Oh well, I pushed the cart aside and sat down to eat dinner and grab a glass of wine. I really had no desire to deal with this crap. Well one glass of wine lead to another and I decided that I'd my books were eplaceable. LOL Wish I could see the maid's face tomorrow when she starts to clean my room and she sees all this food here.
Anyone know of a place to get a nice, sturdy, rolling pantry?
Well, I have removed my books, shuffled around the food to fit in the bookcase for now. I bet it stays there for months, I'm so lazy. :-) But at least I know myself. Or better yet, why not just EAT IT!
Remember if it is unladylike, fattening or fun, it must be good for you!
Ta ta for now
